Hi, I am new to using essential oils and was wondering if you could tell me what would be the best oils to mix with Helichyrsum Italicum oil to treat spider veins on the face?
Thanks in advance!
Hi Miriam,
You can add basil, wintergreen and cypress to helichrysum for the treatment of spider veins. Please make sure to dilute in a carrier oil such as jojoba oil. Also perform a skin test patch prior to application.

What essential oils are good for MS?
Hi Sharon,
The best essential oils for multiple sclerosis are Basil, Clary Sage, Frankincense, Peppermint or Roman Chamomile essential oils. These oils are very helpful in the treatment of nervous disorders such as MS due to their sedative and calming effects. Get someone to apply 2-3 drops to your spine or back of the neck. You may also apply to bottom of feet.

Thank you very much..

Hello,
Do you have any suggestions for treating hyperemesis gravidarum? I suffered with it with both of my pregnancies, which was brutal, but I would like to have more children. Any advice would help! Thank you,
Marisa
Hi Marisa,
I am afraid essential oils will not be able to help you with hyperemesis gravidarum. Please do not take any medication either before first consulting your doctor.
I wish you all the best.

I am new to essential oils. What recommendations do you have for Grave’s Disease / Hyperthyroid with Thyroid Eye Disease (lid retraction)?
H Ellen,
A few essential oils Frankincense and Myrrh are known to improve thyroid function. You can apply a few drops (3-4 drops) of the above essential oils directly to the thyroid area twice daily. Do not use any essential oils directly into your eyes. You can also read the post below.

Please consult your doctor for further advice.

Hello!
Your site is very helpful.
I am new to aromatherapy and wanted to ask you something…
I am suffering from an acne breakout on mi chin probably caused by food during Christmas.
I refuse to use BP again so I am seeing some improvements now that I am using essential oils.
I am mixing 1/4 teaspoon roughly of aloe/tea tree gel with 1 drop of: lavender, grapefruit, neroli, yling ylang.
What do you think?
I was thinking about trying your suggestion for the blend, do you think I could use grapefruit instead of lemon?
Otherwise do you think I could mix tea tree, lemon, lavender with grapefruit, peppermint and neroli?
If yes how many drops of the others oil you haven’t mentioned (like grapefruit peppermint)?
I hope I am not bothering too much with this!!!
Yesterday I have tried to mix with coconut oil as a carrier oil but scared that could be bad for my skin, I have a combination skin and suffering from acne on my chin, which carrier oil you think could be a good option? Could it work for acne skin?
Thanks in advance for your precious help!:))
Hi Lore,
Thank you. Your essential oil blend of aloe, tea tree, lavender, grapefruit, neroli, ylang ylang seems perfectly fine to me. Yes you can substitute lemon for grapefruit essential oil.
Try one blend at a time for a period of one to two weeks, then if you have no success, you can change the blend around and do the substitution.
Coconut oil is generally gentle on the skin. If you have any concerns with coconut oil, you could instead try sweet almond oil or jojoba oil as carrier oils.
I will also be publishing an essential oil ebook for oily/combination skin soon, stay tuned.

Olivia

Looking forward to what insights you have to offer, but I suggest you drop the “for Dummies” in the title (unless you’re part of that publication series). Its an insulting and tired concept. I’m interested in your approach to essential oils, but I’m not a dummy on the topic.
Hi Sarah,
Thanks for your comment. The first book is a beginner’s book with basic concepts. I plan on releasing another more advanced book may be more suitable for your knowledge of essential oils.

What are the best essential oils to regrow eyebrows and hair loss.
Hi Michelle,
Previous studies have found that massaging the scalp with a mixture of rosemary, cedarwood, thyme and lavender essential oils improved the hair growth process over months of consistent use. You can also add grapeseed and jojoba to the above mixture and apply this to your scalp once a day.
Castor oil is great for eyebrow and eyelashes, but be very careful in applying it as it is close to your eyes.
Please note that using essential oils for the above problems will require consistent and long term use, however it is better to use essential oils than applying products which contain harsh chemicals. Always use essential oils in their diluted form.
Thanks,
Olivia
Michelle, I had bald spots in the middle of both eyebrows. I made a roller ball (10ml size) with Rosemary and castor oil and just roll it over my eyebrows every night. I massage the oil into the bald spots. The hair has begun to grow back AND it is brown, not gray (like the rest of my head hair… I’m 64 years old). The hairs I already had are nicer and less wirey than they used to be. I also had a bare spot in the lower lashes of one of my eyes. I massaged the oil carefully on this spot and the lashes have begun to grow back in. It wasn’t instant, but over time (maybe a couple of months… I’m not good with time) I have seen results and couldn’t be happier. EOs rock!
Awesome testimonial! Very good to hear the details of your treatment, thanks!
