Hi Olivia, What oil can be used for radiation induced fibrosis in the neck (throat cancer)? A good friend is suffering from this and doctors basically told her she’ll be stuck with it forever. Her neck is practically horizontally jutted forward.

Thank you in advance, Lucia

Look into Pravastatin, 50% success rate in reduction of fibrosis. Also Trental and Vit E, which I take and also massage using ART or Graston. Helichrysum, peppermint, Clary sage, frankincense oils mixed help with lavendar too. Her doctors are wrong.

Hi Lucia,

I'd use 6 drops peppermint and 5 drops each of marjoram and chamomile diluted in 1 ounce jojoba oil. Apply twice a day to the affected areas.

I am a nine-year breast cancer survivor (estrogen-receptor positive) and would like to know which oils I should avoid. Thanks.

Hi Kim,

Thanks for taking the time to write. There are some essential oils to avoid during chemotherapy / radiation but after treatment, essential oils are generally safe to use as they are natural products.

Are there any essential oils that can help with swelling of the Breast from lymph node removal and radiation? It also sometimes goes into my hand.

Hi Tina,

You can use 1 drop each of geranium, myrrh and 2 drops of frankincense in 1 tsp carrier oil and massage the affected areas up to three times per day. You can get those oils here. Optional essential oils to use are cypress, jasmine and sandalwood, the latter two being quite expensive.

What do you recommend to alleviate pain from radiation for head and neck cancer? Burned mouth and throat. Dry mouth. How do I dispense?

Hi Melanie,

You could try l’orpur pain relief blend or any other of my other pain-relief recipes, however it may worsen the situation and cause a burning sensation.

I would simply apply a carrier oil such as almond or jojoba oil. Just a few drops to the affected area when relief is needed or up to twice a day.
