  1. Hi Olivia
Your website is very informative and with experience.
My question is I have neck & shoulder pain. I use essential oils around the house.
I asked my GP if I could essential oils topically for my pain but is not interested in aromatherapy.
On reading your recipe for muscle & joint pain or neck & shoulder pain would any of the EOs interfere with the medications I take for my heart.
I outline the medicines I take:
    Spiractin25, Somac, Asprin, Perindo8 & Cavstat20.
If you think any oil/s in the recipe would cause a side effect could you modify the recipe with any other oils which will be effective with contraindications.
    I await your advice

    1. Hi Deanna,

Essential oils being natural substances do not interfere with meds. To be 100% confident, you can simply do a trial for a day or two to ensure no side effects.

      Regards,
      Olivia

  2. My mom suffers from fibromyalgia. She is in severe pain everyday. Is there anything to help with this pain. It’s unbearable.

  3. Hi. One if the blends above has 28 total drops of oil. How does this work with dilution or do you use without dilution?

    1. Hi Lisa,

For topical application, please dilute the 28 drops in approx. 45-50ml carrier oil.

      Regards,
      Olivia

    1. Hi Jennifer,

Yes. Please dilute 12-18 drops of essential oils in 1 ounce (30ml) of carrier oil. You can start off with 12 drops and increase progressively as required.

You can adjust the ratios of essential oils accordingly to suit the 1 ounce carrier oil.

Any other questions, please don't hesitate.

      Regards,
      Olivia

  4. I have had a yeast infection for over a year have been treated by a doctor but it came back is there anything that I can take or use with the oils that would help?

  5. Hello Olivia, I'm told I have MS and I would like to use essential oils to heal myself. I have a few conditions already and I am treated with medication; however the MS medicine side affects are extreme and I cannot risk my life that way. Also is there anything for diabetes or HBP. I truly would appreciate your assistance. I'm sold on the oils and what they can do. Thank you so very much.

    1. Hi Teresa,

      You are welcome.

Sure, there a few options when it comes to Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and I would like to understand exactly what symptoms you are trying to treat, e.g. is it for pain, for stress, sleep, headaches, circulation, lack of focus/concentration, etc. Can you please let me know which symptoms you are experiencing and I will come up with a plan for you.

  6. Olivia,

Would any essential oils work to keep fleas off of my cats? We use a flea comb twice a day and still they are out of control. I don't really want to use commercial flea treatments, which are all harmful to the cat.

    Thanks for your advice.

    Susan

    1. Hi Susan,

You will need to be very careful as cats are extremely sensitive to essential oils; please also consult with your Vet prior to using essential oils on your cat.

Once confirmed, you can use a heavy dilution rate, i.e. for every 1 drop of essential oil, you need to dilute in 2-3 tbsp. of carrier oil such as olive oil or coconut oil, plus use only therapeutic grade essential oils only. Lavender, frankincense and geranium are generally safe to use on cats, and the paws are a great place to start off with the application of the diluted essential oil blend.

      Regards,

  7. Making blends as gifts. How much carrier oil do you recommend with these blends? I don't want to dilute the recipe but I also don't want it to irritate my families skin.

    1. Hi Sherry,

The dilution rate should be approx. 2%, which means every 12 drops of essential oils should be diluted in 30ml (1 fl. oz) of carrier oil. Please do a test patch prior to application on the skin.

      Regards,
      Olivia

    1. Hi Kim,

Yes, you could add a carrier oil to the various blends. As always, please do a test patch before applying it to the skin.

      Regards,
      Olivia

  8. I workout a lot and use my gels but my PT recommended I give essential oils a go. Can I use the muscle and joint blend every day or is it too powerful?

    Rating: 5
    1. Hi Mazina,

The muscle and joint blend oil recipe can be applied to sore muscles and joints everyday. The peppermint in this blend will relieve any pain and inflammation and cool overworked muscles due to its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. Some people may experience a slight burning sensation, especially those with sensitive skin.
